Product Description
“Rolling sculptures” according to the famous definition of Arthur Drexler who was the first to organize exhibitions dedicated to automotive design at the MOMA in New York, of which he was curator, exhibiting an important number of cars designed in Turin. Following an ideal parallelism with the Renaissance masterpieces of past centuries, the salient passages and emblematic creations of the twentieth century Turin coachbuilders are recalled, without neglecting anecdotes and aspects that keep the humanity of those who created so many automotive masterpieces alive, perhaps the most coveted art of modern times. The volume is inspired by three main reasons: the desire not to lose the memory of an exceptional moment in the history of Turin, very present to fans but little known to the general public, the author’s love for his city and a streak of nostalgia for the past, not necessarily better but certainly fruitful and full of faith in the future.
